My Crowdfunding Campaign

Our firm began publishing videos on the Debt Coach Silverthorn YouTube channel in late February of this year.  You can watch these videos on the Videos webpage on this website.  These videos cover a variety of topics including consumer debt, the Canadian collection industry, the Canadian debt relief industry, and specific ways that individuals could eliminate their debt--often at huge discounts.

In mid-March of this year, several individuals encouraged me to create more YouTube videos with higher production values than I could achieve utilizing Doodly, a $69.00 piece of video software.  Don't get me wrong, I love working with Doodly!  It is a wonderful software program for creating videos but you wouldn't use it to create a television commercial.

These "fans" suggested that I produce videos addressing various personal finance issues--with much higher-production values--by hiring a freelance videographer and several production professionals.  I was flattered when I was encouraged to produce these videos but I was in no financial position to do so.  These fans were asking me to spend significant sums of money producing YouTube videos that could potentially help hundreds of thousands of Canadians avoid making poor decisions when it comes to handling creditors, collection agencies, and choosing the optimal debt relief response given their unique debt situation.

I decided to accept this challenge and to begin this journey but it would be absolutely necessary for me to seek the public's assistance in financing the production of these YouTube videos.  Accordingly, on March 19th I launched a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign.   My goal was to raise $10K within 90 days.

Here's a link to my GoFundMe Campaign. Anyone who is interested in making an anonymous online donation to this  crowdfunding campaign is welcome to do so through GoFundMe.

Shortly after launching this GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign, I reached out to Brandon Zakkai, a very talented Toronto-based videographer, and upon learning more about my crowdfunding campaign he informed me that he wanted to participate in this venture.  I was incredibly happy to have Brandon carve out some time from his busy schedule because he was literally my first choice to produce these videos.

Toronto-based videographer Brandon Zakkai has agreed to

produce Mark Silverthorn's series of YouTube videos focusing

on personal finance issues for Canadians.

Brandon and I recently worked with a film crew on a one-day shoot in a Toronto studio to obtain video footage that can be used in future videos.

On June 20th our first YouTube video--utilitizing footage

obtained from this Toronto film shoot--titled "Is Credit

Counseling For Suckers?" was published on the Debt Coach

                                                     Silverthorn YouTube channel.

It is not too late for anyone supporting our efforts to create quality videos on personal finance for Canadians to make a donation to our current GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign.
